On 22 November, Iran energy minister has notified Tavanir of the instruction prepared to implement the board of ministers’ legislation on the power procurement for large industrial customers demanding more than 5 MWs. Based on the instruction, within two months after the notification date, it is obligatory for this kind of consumers to procure their required electric power through the bilateral contracts or the power exchange, otherwise, the corresponding distribution /regional electricity company must buy the required power on behalf of the intended consumer at the maximum possible price offered in the wholesale market and the power exchange. In addition, the consumer will be charged a 0.5 % commission fee.
